OMS Boys Basketball

5/6 Grade

On Tuesday the Miners picked up our first win, defeating Manhattan Christian 25-12. Jack Potocki scored 10 points, and Declan Mitchell added 9. Russell Mitchell was our third leading scorer with 4 points. Everyone played great defense on Tuesday, and didn't allow our opponent any easy layups. There was a great effort to communicate with each other on both ends of the court. It was great to see all the smiles that came with a win.

On Thursday, the Miners fell to the Heritage Christian 6th grade team 36-10. They were tall, athletic, and experienced. Coach Larson says: "I hope that our players were able to take a few lessons from the experience, such as: the importance of preventing easy layups with concentration and proper body positioning, and the realization that we can score and do well when we are careful with our passes." Good job boys!
