Kindergarten Roundup - Spread the word! Do you have a neighbor or know someone in Big Sky with a child who will be 5 years old on or before 9/10/2019? Let them know Ophir Elementary will be registering incoming kindergarten students for the 2019-2020 School Year! On Wednesday, March 20th the elementary will be open from 7:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. so they can come in and complete the registration process. For further information, call 406-995-4281. Thank you.
The yearbook staff has been working hard to pull together a nice yearbook that will serve as a lasting memory for you and your students for years to come. We are wrapping up making the yearbook and will be sending it out to print near the end of March. One of our final tasks is laying out the senior section of the book. I am sending you this email to ask for some materials for this section. Please submit the below photos and text by March 20th. Please let me know if you have any questions!
1. Senior Portrait. The senior portrait will be featured along with your student's "senior quote". The senior portrait isn’t the standard school photo, those are featured in the class photos section. The senior portrait is typically a portrait with a little more personality than the class photos. If your student didn't get professional portraits taken, that is not a problem. We can use any nice current photo.
Photo Quality: Please make sure that you have a high resolution photo. The resolution should be at minimum 150 dpi/ppi. A photo take off of the internet or a photo that is very small will tend to be a lower resolution and will likely be pixelated when printed. If you are not sure, you can check your resolution by opening the photo on your computer. I’m not sure what program each person has at home for viewing photos, but if you google search “how to check resolution of a photo” it should be straight forward. I can help you figure it out if you are having trouble with this, just let me know.
Photo Format: Please send photos as a JPEG file.
How to send: You can simply email the photo to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please send your photo by March 20th.
2. Senior Send Off. We would like to feature a "senior send off section" in the yearbook this year. The send off consists of a brief paragraph of well wishes and congratulations from each senior parent/guardian/loved one to their student as well as some fun photos of the student. We just need the written send off and some photos from you, and we will take care of the layout.
Written Send Off: The content of the paragraph is up to you, but typically parents will write up a nice, personalized note to their child. Parents also like to include quotes in their send off. Really, anything goes! As far as length, anything less than 10 sentences will be fine. Please just write the content of your send off in a word doc, google doc, or even in an email and we’ll take care of the layout.
Photos: Photos that show the student doing what they love, baby pictures, and any fun photos of the student are great. Please include between 1- 4 photos. Photos should be higher resolution and JPEG files, as described above.
How to send: Please email your word document and photos to email@example.com. Please send this all by March 20th.
