LPHS Basketball Postseason Update

Hello sports fans!

The LPHS Basketball teams have completed their regular seasons and are headed into the 2023 District 12C Tournament, where they will attempt to qualify for Divisionals and then State. Here is how it is looking for both teams. The District Tournament will be held at the Maroon Activities Center in Butte, Montana.

The Lone Peak Lady Bighorns secured the #5 seed heading into the tournament. The girls have had a strong season. They secured some huge victories down the stretch winning five of their last eight conference games to solidify a spot in the district tournament. The Lady Bighorns finish their season with an overall record of 8-6 in the conference.

The ladies will take on West Yellowstone this Thursday at 1:30 in first round action.

The Lone Peak Bighorn boys team has also had a successful go of it this season. One of the most successful in a very long time in fact. The boys also won five of their last eight games and battled all game with the #2 team in the state, West Yellowstone. The boys finish with a conference record of 9-6 and an overall record of 11-7, the best overall record for the program in many years.

The boys landed the #6 seed which means they will need to beat the Lima Bears in a play-in game in order to earn a spot in the district tournament and get a first round matchup with #3 Harrison / Willow Creek (the Bighorns defeated the Bears on the road earlier this season          53 - 31).

They will try to repeat that performance this Wednesday at 3:30 pm.

GO BIGHORNS!
