Bighorn Bulletin - Aug 28

Hello Bighorn Fans!

Fall sports have kicked off with a bang, and with that comes our first 'Bighorn Bulletin' where you can get all the details from last week's sporting events in case you missed the action.

Boys Soccer

The boys soccer team kicked off their season in style, beating Polson at home 5-1 on Friday and then took care of business against Bigfork the following day with a 7-1 show of force. Six different Bighorns scored in Saturday's game. The boys are 2-0 and face Lockwood this weekend.

Girls Soccer

The girls soccer team also came out swinging both Friday and Saturday beating Polson 5-1  and then Bigfork 3-0 with 8th Grader Marley Chapin earning her first shutout. On Friday Harper Morris earned a hat trick scoring three goals with Lola Morris adding a fourth. The girls are also 2-0 and will head to Lockwood this weekend.

Football

The Lone Peak football team also rose to the occasion with a dominant victory of their own vs. Manhattan Christian on Saturday. The boys travelled to Churchill for their season opener and defeated the Eagles 42-6.  They will be on the road in Ennis next Saturday along with the middle school team who will play their first game vs. the Mustangs as well.

Volleyball

The Lone Peak volleyball team travelled to West Yellowstone on Friday for their first game. The junior varsity sealed the deal in the fifth game winning by just a few points, unfortunately the varsity team was in the same position but unable to close the game with a victory, with all five games being very close. They will face Shields Valley at home on Saturday. The middle school volleyball team begins practice today!
