Weekly Activities Report

Hello Bighorn fans,

The postseason for spring sports has been an exciting one. Check out what our athletes and coaches have accomplished below:

Golf

The Lone Peak golf team played the state tournament in Great Falls last week. The girls' team qualified with senior Myla Hoover, and freshmen Cate Leydig, Olivia Kamieniarz, and Dylan Manka. The boys team had one qualifier in Isaac Bedway, who finished T29th. The ladies were coming off a second place finish at divisionals the week before and were able to deliver again, taking second place at the state tournament. Hoover finished 49th and Kamieniarz 21st. Dylan Manka slid into the top ten with a 7th place finish and Cate Leydig finished strong with an 81 to take the State Class C Individual Championship. Congratulations everyone!

Baseball

The Bighorn baseball team had some great success in one of their last regular season games defeating Butte Central on the road. They also faced Sidney and East Helena for their last regular season games and showed marked improvement. Great work this season boys!

Track & Field

Eight Bighorn tracksters attended the divisional meet last weekend in Missoula. (Aubrey Farr, Ben Saad, Orrin Coleman, Jessie Bough, Harper Morris, Astrid Mcguire, Bryce Houghteling, and Kael Gilbert) Three of those athletes are headed to State in Laurel this weekend. Astrid McGuire turned on the jets, setting PR's in both the 1600 and the 800 meter and finishing second in both events. Orrin Coleman finished 7th in the mile, and 5th in the 3200, and Ben Saad qualified earlier in the season in the high jump. Freshman Harper Morris also had an impressive performance and was just tenths of a second off getting a qualifying spot in the 300 meter hurdles and PR'd in the long jump. Good luck at state you three!

Tennis

Our Lady Bighorn tennis team also had some success in Missoula this weekend. Congratulations to the doubles teams of Addy Malinowski / Charlee Sue Dreisbach, as well as Anna Masonic and Malin Nilson for qualifying for the state tournament in Great Falls next weekend! We are proud of you!
